Featured in the local newspaper!

If you'd have told me a year ago I would be featured in the local newspaper about a vintage clothing store I co-founded, I'd never believe you. But it's happened anyways: Platform Vintage was recently featured in the local newspaper! Check it out at this link (in Dutch).
It came about unexpectedly after a council meeting. A journalist spotted me and asked directly about the store photos I'd shared online. "Is Platform Vintage yours?" he asked. "Yes, it is – I run it with my two business partners," I replied. He pressed a bit, asking if I started it, and I reiterated, "Together with my partners, yes."
He then mentioned my style and suggested an interview, which I eagerly agreed to. Honestly, while I'm used to seeing my name in print occasionally due to council work, that's always about my role as a politician. This time, the focus was on me, my personal style, and the passion behind Platform Vintage. That shift felt significant, and I'll admit, waiting to see the published piece was a little nerve-wracking. It feels more vulnerable when it's about who you are, not just what you said in a meeting.
As is often the case, I had no need to worry. The journalist was fantastic – friendly and genuinely curious (always appreciate that!), and the article turned out beautifully. It really captures the essence of what drives me and my partners. He was even gracious enough to overlook the terrible coffee I brewed for him – must have been the nerves!
I feel the article truly reflects our motto and core of our business: sustainable, affordable, vintage.
