Fashion never really clicked for me. I wasn’t the type to follow trends, growing up on hand-me-downs and never caring about rapidly changing designs. As I got older, I wanted to explore my style, but I became paralyzed by the unethical practices behind fast fashion.
How could I express myself knowing my choices contributed to such harm? That's when I discovered second-hand shops and vintage finds. I couldn’t understand why anyone would choose mass-produced clothing when unique, one-of-a-kind items existed. That’s when I realized I could explore my style without the guilt of supporting harmful labor and environmental damage.
When Platform Vintage came to life, it was clear: I wanted to help others do the same. This shop is all about sharing the joy of discovering unique pieces while supporting sustainability and ethical fashion. Find your style and make a positive impact with every choice you make.

When I was a little, my mom showed me old Hollywood movies like Breakfast at Tiffany’s and I was mesmerized by the beautiful aesthetics. This translated into my love for anything vintage. I taught myself to sew and soon what I couldn’t find, I would make myself.
While studying fashion, my main goal was to be a designer who would make a positive contribution to the fashion industry, especially regarding sustainability. In reality, this proved to be a tough job. Because of my passion for making my own clothes, I started designing knitting patterns. Inspiring people to dig into slow fashion, making your own clothes.
But this wasn’t enough. During the umpteenth brainstorm with Jacco & Marijn about this subject, we were joking. How cool would it be if we had our own vintage shop. Sharing our passion for sustainability and vintage fashion. Until we realized this was no joke to us.. And here we are!

In everything I do I try to make the world a better place. In 2024 I went to the exposition "Family of Man" in a beautiful castle in Clervaux Luxembourg, where there was a little library. And in that little castle library there was a newspaper with a big quote on it:
"I always thought that everything you do is political"
And something just clicked for me. The combination of that powerful exposition and that quote made me realise: I want to do what I can to make the world a better place, after all: 'everything is politics'. Just a few months after that Mandy, Marijn and I started thinking about starting a vintage clothing company, a dream we never knew we had. Less than half a year later Platform Vintage was born.
